CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF EMPOWERING WOMEN WITH A STRONG FOUNDATION Dr. Yolanda Ragland, #1 Podiatric Foot Surgeon, Among Network Journal’s 25 Influential Black Women in Business, Discusses Social Media & Entrepreneur Trends for Foot Health Awareness Month

NEW YORK, NY - FEB, 2020 - In time for Foot Health Awareness Month, Dr. Yolanda Ragland, a Podiatric Reconstruction Forefoot Surgeon, celebrates 20 years of empowering women with a strong foundation. As CEO & Founder of Fix Your Feet, Inc., she maintains offices on Park Avenue in New York City and the Washington Metro area in Downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. The focus of her practice is bunion and hammertoe correction, and Dr. Ragland has helped thousands of women fix their feet, and built a seven-figure business.

Dr. Ragland is offering a surgery giveaway on social media for her 20th anniversary and Foot Health Awareness Month. “As I have my own practice, engaging with women on platforms like Instagram came from an entrepreneurial instinct to grow awareness. I now care for thousands of women globally,” said Dr. Ragland. “The majority of patients come from social media today, and I often answer many questions with DMs. While one woman will win a surgery, all have access to me on social media.”

This Park Ave Podiatrist is the first and only one with practices dedicated solely to bunion, corn, and hammertoe correction, which 50% of American women develop. She is the best forefoot reconstructive surgeon in the Northeast and coined the term "Inter-Digital" approach for hammertoe procedures. With training from the Academic Affiliate of Weill Medical College, as a Cornell University Graduate of NY, she is a five-year Dermatology Fellow at the National Institutes of Health. She is also an Attending Surgeon, Department of Orthopedics at Lenox Hill Hospital & Midtown Surgery Center.

“Foot pain negatively impacts a woman’s health and confidence,” said Dr. Ragland. “Conditions like bunions, corns, and hammertoes cause intense pain. The embarrassing appearance of such deformities affect a woman’s self-esteem. The Internet explodes when celebrities like Meghan Markle have foot flaws, so imagine what it’s like for the rest of us every day. Women with foot insecurity are also less likely to feel sexy and often hide their feet from partners! I’m grateful I have been practicing for 20 years and I’m excited to give back and continue to empower women to stand strong. As I say, ‘I know what it’s like to walk in your shoes.’TM”
